In 2017 on a broadcast of Believer’s Voice of Victory with Gloria Copeland, I taught on “The Great Awakening” out of which the United States of America was born.
The greatest preacher of “The Great Awakening” was George Whitfield from England. He crossed the Atlantic 13 times with the burning message of salvation by grace alone. And he traversed for years up and down the 13 colonies with that message and with the firm conviction that the 13 colonies should be “one nation under God.”
Yesterday I gave attention all day to the study of the Book of Ezekiel for my upcoming 3BI class. I knew Branden and Destanie invited me to share on their monthly streamed live prayer meeting for the State of California. Just as soon as I stood up from the computer where I’d been working on the study guide, a supernatural outpouring of the Holy Spirit in Russia affected California and eventually my life as I received the Holy Spirit baptism in 1967 during the Charismatic Movement. I looked to see if I had the details recorded. And I did! I just read from my journals what I am copying below.
Of course, you are praying. My daughter, Shelli, did what Lynne Hammond calls “a flop and stop” this morning and it came to the account of when David’s son, Adonaijah, supported by Israel’s Captains of the Host, Priest, etc. held a huge feast to crown Adonaijah king in the place of his dying father.But David sent his son, Solomon, on his own fast mule to the Pool of Shiloach, Gihon, and there he was anointed king.When the illegal festivities heard the news, the sound of it literally split the earth.
NES is the word for Miracle in Hebrew.
And we have had one for our 25th Anniversary Autumn Assembly of Prayer.
Noah Webster’s definition of miracle is “a divine intervention in the ordinary course of nature.” I don’t back up from this definition in saying that we have had one. And I didn’t even know we needed one.
On Sunday, sensing “the pray-ers” needed a rest and a refreshing…Not to mention that I needed one, after a week’s teaching on The Book of Revelation for a 3BI course, I thought of the Scripture that says, “For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing.”
I wanted to remind the 3’oclock Sunday afternoon pray-ers that one purpose of praying in tongues is to provide this spiritual rest. And as the New Testament also teaches, it is a way to edify, or to recharge our batteries, so to speak.
What a time it is to be chosen by the Lord to live upon the earth!
The Bible speaks of running a race. I believe it is a relay race and this is the last lap. What an honor we have to be chosen to be the carriers of the baton in the last lap. For that is where the fastest runners are positioned.
This morning on Pat Robertson’s 700 Club, our good friend, Chris Mitchell, CBN’s Jerusalem anchor, presented a wonderful clip of his 20 years in Jerusalem. Very informative. Then he and Pat discussed how all the players of the Ezekiel 38 and 39 war are in place.

And more doors than ever have been opened to us in this ministry.
I want to share something with you that I have been meditating on for a couple of weeks now. It is a help to guarding one’s heart in the midst of madness taking place all around.
