Remembrance Day Ends, Independence Day Begins
State of many young Jews in the West in Microcosm
Yesterday we went to the shopping area of Ein Bokek. As we sat at a table outside the mini-market we heard a clean-cut young man about 17 or 18 years old ask a question of an Israeli woman in English.
We took up a conversation with him. He is from Vancouver B.C. and in this Land with a Jewish youth group. We talked a while and explained who we are—Zionist Christians and what that means, etc.
He reached up his hand and touched a small Magen David (star of David) on a chain around his neck. And he softly said, “I’m embarrassed to wear this in Canada. But I bought it here and I like wearing it.”
I thought, He probably meant he was afraid to wear it in Canada. How sad.
Two Very Special Days
Shelli and I were in the dining room when the 2-minute siren sounded at 11:00 this morning in remembrance of all the fallen in all Israel’s wars and victims of terrorism for more than 76 years. It was a unique experience to physically stand silently with the people in the room, including the cooks. But we knew we were standing with all the people of Israel throughout the Land of Israel. We looked at each other as the siren ended and thanked God we got to experience it.
Then tonight at dinner, another day began (the evening and the morning) and with it the celebration of the rebirth of Israel as the modern state 76 years ago. Flags flying. Even miniature flags stuck in the various desserts beside a large cake with a blue Magen David drawn on the white frosting.
My avatiach (אָבַטִיחַ = watermelon) had a small flag on a toothpick sticking out of the lush red of the melon (yummy, never tasted better).
How apropos that on one day, honor is given to the blood shed in bringing about and sustaining the modern state of Israel; and the very next day, celebration and thanksgiving are given for the state that such sacrifice birthed, kept, and is keeping.

Dear Sisters Billye and Shelli
Thank you for being there in the land and taking us with you. Today’s morning and afternoon prayer calls were so important and so powerful…I feel so blessed to be called to this ministry of prayer, I’ve been with you since early 90’s , I am hearing more now than ever in my spirit, and being led more clearly as I sit in my seat of authority . I send my prayers and support to you and to Israel. Praise Jesus!!
I would like to visit Israel with BBM 2025.
My heart aches and prays for the salvation and peace of Israel. So very thankful you are there and send us these messages so we can be there in the spirit with you.
Same here Victoria, with you in that x. Thank you Billye and Shelli, for being great representatives, teachers and intercessors. God Bless you both and the path before you.
Praying for your safety and blessings upon you in your group. Thank you for the weekly prayer meetings and for the prophetic witness you do on YouTube. My husband and I are so looking forward to attending the autumn assembly again this year.
I am so thankful that you are there to let everyone know how much we love them, stand with them, and pray for them. I love reading your blog Billye and hearing all about your adventures with Shelli in Israel. Someday I will go with y’all on one of your trips but, until then, thank you so much for your blog.
Jesus is so wonderful. Without Him, none of this would be possible. I delight to hear your experiences in His land and know that He is with us all at any given time, loving and teaching us about His love. Satan always wants to destroy love and those who love, but he is a liar, and he is already a defeated foe. Only those whom he tricks into working for him will never know love, only hate, for Satan is the author of hate. God loves those who are deceived and waits for them to open to His knock on their heart’s door. We must pray for them, as He does not want them to go to Hell with Satan. Have you heard the testimony of the son of one of the creators of Hamas? It’s truly wonderful. I think I sent you the link.
Sometimes, when I am persecuted, even by the church, or those in it, and wonder why, I realize that this is part of being a part of the family of Abraham, that God told him would be persecuted. AND we are persecuted for His name’s sake, as well. But in all of that, we know our reward will be greater and it will be worth it all for if we suffer with Him, we will also reign with Him, glory hallelujah!
I hope you are able to witness to some of those who were taken hostage and bring them the good news of the Love of God that overcomes all hatred and evil., I pray that they come to really know Him as He knows and loves them, that is my prayer.
Thank you again for sharing, Billye and Shellie. We love you and pray for your safety and safe return to America. In Jesus name, amen.
