Farmers Redeeming the Land
Jeremiah 32:15 KJV For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Houses and fields and vineyards shall be possessed again in this land.
When the children of Israel possessed the land of Canaan, they were conversant with the very soil and its produce. Moses, David, Amos and others were shepherds. But in the dispersion that followed the destruction of the Second Temple in A.D. 70 by Rome, Jews dispersed throughout the world were often forbidden from holding land. They were forced into other means of making their livings.
In the miraculous Ingathering since the late 1800s, Jews once again needed to redeem the Land and its fruit. They had to learn how to once again become the farmers, shepherds and vineyard keepers they were in Bible times.
We were blessed to travel into expansive areas to meet some of these remarkable people.
Hebron
I was so pleasantly surprised to see all the excellent craftsmanship that has gone into the area around Jesse and Ruth’s Tomb (Kever Yishai v’Rut). They call it “beauti-fighting” because they often have to do it in the midst of confrontations.
The amazing man you see pouring us tea is a farmer, a shepherd and a woodworker par excellence (the tractor belongs to him). The woodworking at Jesse and Ruth’s Tomb is his. Doesn’t he look like he could have stepped out of the pages of the Bible?
Thanksgiving Dinner
Don’t feel a bit sorry for us thinking we missed a Thanksgiving feast. We didn’t. We were invited to a traditional Thanksgiving dinner combined with Shabbat at the beautiful home of Danny and Anne Ayalon. We first met these wonderful people twenty or so years ago when Danny was the Israeli Ambassador to the United States.
Anne is an American and she prepared a delicious turkey (hard to find whole in Israel, but she did). She searched out all the fixings, going to supermarkets in communities where Americans make up most of the inhabitants.
This gracious couple, their friends and family made us feel sooo at home.
Our time with them was over the top delightful!!!!!

Loving all your blogs but, one was so rich with pictures of the Land. My Beloved Israel. I never wanted to leave when living there but, my Heavenly Father tricked me. I thought I was taking a couple of weeks vacation to the States but, alas my job there changed due to the influx of the Russian aliyah. He was making sure I stayed in His will. Without a doubt I would have been like Josef in Max’s church. LOL)
Outstanding pictures and y’all do look healthy and happy. Have prayed daily for your supernatural strength and safety, of course.
Can’t wait to hear all about the changes at Migdal and all your trip. We are staying by the stuff but, we are there in the Spirit.
Keeping up with Amir and with the fighting now in Syria, he mentioned Syria was not one of the end times northern nations. I chuckled because we know from our WWP Prayer Call that God gave us the list of “5 nations”. Exciting to be living in these times.
