SEEKING THE LORD’S GUIDANCE SCRIPTURES

Note –1_1_11  When He speaks to me, it’s always about hearing Him.

Matthew 4:4  Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Numerical Bible Note: What a sustenance of the true life within us to be thus, day by day, receiving the messages of His will, guided by that wondrous VOICE, learning continually more the tenderness of His love for us.
Isaiah 50:4 He wakeneth morning by morning; He wakens mine ear to hear as the learned. This is the utterance prophetically of the Lord Himself; how blessed to be able to make it our own, and thus to have the fulfillment of those words:
Psalms 32:8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way in which thou shalt go. I will guide thee with mine eye. ….he who walking with God, waits upon God, what shall ensnare him? What enemy shall prevail against him?

Proverbs 20:27   The spirit of man is the candle (lamp) of the Lord; searching all the inward parts of the belly.

Psalms 18:28   For it is you who will light my lamp, the Lord my God, will illuminate my darkness. (Artscrolls)  Also see: 2 Samuel 22:29

Psalms 27:1

The Lord is my light and my salvation,
Whom shall I fear?
One thing I asked of the Lord
That shall I seek:
That I dwell in the House of the Lord
All the days of my life
To behold the delight of the Lord, and to meditate in His Sanctuary.
In your behalf (of Thee), my heart has said,
Seek My Presence.
Your Presence, O Lord, I do seek.
Conceal not your Presence from me…
Instruct me Lord in Your way, lead me on the path of integrity.

Psalms 18:27  He illuminated for us

Psalms 16:11  Thou wilt show me the path of life;
in thy Presence is fullness of joy,
At Thy right hand there are pleasures evermore.

Isaiah 30:1,2   Take counsel of Him. Ask at His mouth.

Proverbs 20:5  Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water,
but a man of understanding will draw it out.

To you Jehovah I lift up my soul, My God, in you I trust…
Your ways (derekim) make known to me.
Teach me your paths
Lead me in your truth and teach me,
For you are My God, my Savior…

Who is this, the man fearful of Jehovah
He (Jehovah) will show him the way (Derek) he should choose.

(14) The secret of Jehovah is for those who fear Him, and His
Covenant is to make them know.

Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God,

wisdom and spiritual understanding. That ye might walk
worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God.

THE HOLY SPIRIT
Ruach Hakodesh

Alexander Maclaren on John 14-16
With Christ in the Upper Room page 132
“…every believing soul has this Divine Spirit for His teacher, and ….may, if we will, learn of Him and be led by Him into profounder knowledge of that great Lord. ..the belief in the actual Presence with the church of a Spirit that teaches all faithful members thereof, is far too much lost out of sight of the common Christianity of this day (1890).
We ought to be the standing witnesses in the world of the reality of a Supernatural influence…

John 14:16,17 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter(helper) that He may abide with you forever, the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive because it does not know Him, but you know Him, because He abides with you, and will be in you.

John 14:26 But the Comforter (Helper, Counselor, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby) The Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My Name, He will teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance that I said to you.

John 15:26 When the Comforter is come, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of Truth who proceeds from the Father, He will bear witness of Me.

John 16:7 It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Comforter (Helper…) shall not come to you.

John 16:13 But when He, the Spirit of Truth comes, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own initative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; He will show you things to come. (Companion Bible: the coming things.)

“the promptings of the Spirit”

Comforter Paraclete (GR)

Maclaren: One who is called to the aid of another, primarily as an advocate in a court of law, but more widely as a Helper in any form whatsoever.
“ A comforter who makes strong by His Presence; Advocate Helper, Guide, Instructor.”

Amplified Bible: Comforter, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby.

Companion Bible: One called to the side of another for help or counsel. The Rabbinical writings often refer to the Messiah under the title MeNachem (Comforter) and speak of His days as the days of consolation. Luke 2:25

You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.

Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.

In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. Praise God

      Shalom,
I have a question about Isaiah 30:1,2. I looked it up in the KJV and found quite a difference. Can you please explain this?

      Renee
